Today, Tuesday September 27, 2011, Los Angeles Magazine hosts a luncheon to honor the Top 50 Influential Women in Los Angeles.Los Angeles Magazine chose ten women who make an impact in L.A. every day and asked them to name other women who do the same. Olga Garay, the Executive Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs nominated Kathyrn Icenhower, Executive Director of SHIELDS for Families.
Garay says, “Before Kathryn Icenhower cofounded SHIELDS for Families, many women avoided drug rehab centers because they feared their children would be taken away. Now, due to this former South L.A. social worker, there’s a family-friendly model for treatment.”
We salute Katrhyn Icenhower for her work over the years and thank Los Angeles Magazine and Olga Garay for their continued support.
