SHIELDS is thankful for SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON

This year the employees of Southern California Edison (SCE) have been especially generous to the SHIELDS for Families children, families, and programs. SCE donated their time, talents, and resources to provide tricycles to our children, repaint the community center and courtyard of one of our program sites, and gathered numerous brand new winter coats for our kids. A special thanks to Shelia Taylor for coordinating many of these opportunities between SHIELDS and SCE.

Orientation Schedule

When: Thursdays (except holidays) 10:00-10:30a.m.

Where: Golden West, 417 E. 5th St. LA, CA.90013

Requirements:

1. Must have verifiable 90 day sobriety.
2. Must complete Avenues to Work/Money Management 6 week program.
3. Must attend at least 3 outside 12-step meetings per week and submit Meeting Attendance Record Sheet every two weeks.
4. Must meet with assigned Case Manager twice a month for follow up.
5. Must attend a weekly Men (Monday’s 2-3p.m) or Women’s (Thursday’s, 2-3p.m) Group.
6. Must attend a Co-ed Sobriety support group every Wednesday 1-2p.m.
7. Must be willing and able to work or go to school.
8. Clients will be tested monthly and upon suspicion.
9. TB test must be updated yearly.

• Income Verification
• Current TB Test
• Letter of Participation from Program
• Certificate of Completion from Program
